Dilma Rousseff off to Russia for G20 Summit

Brasília – President Dilma Rousseff arrives in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Tuesday (September 3), to attend the 8th G-20 Summit that will convene leaders from the world's largest economies. On Thursday and Friday (September 5 and 6), she will also meet heads of state and government of fellow BRICS countries – Russia, India, China and South Africa.
The agenda for G-20 includes debates on policies to drive sustainable, balanced growth; inclusive development; and incentives for job creation and anti-corruption efforts.
According to President Rousseff's advisers, discussions on the recent reports of espionage on Brazil by US agencies – which also involve sensitive data from the president and her aides – have been added to the agenda. During the summit, she will meet the US president, Barack Obama, from whom Brazilian government has demanded explanations regarding the concerns.
On Wednesday (September 4), there are no public engagements scheduled for President Rousseff. Thursday schedule includes meetings with China's president, Xi Jinping and other BRICS heads of government, as well as a dinner hosted by Russia's president, Vladimir Putin. On Friday, she will attend the G-20 leaders' meeting with businessmen, top executive officers and trade union leaders from G20 countries, which is known as the B20 (Business Twenty).
