Rousseff meets with Bill Clinton

Brasília – President Dilma Rousseff will meet with former US president Bill Clinton in New York, on Monday (September 23). Their meeting is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. (GMT –3) at the hotel where she is staying.
Rousseff and Clinton will discuss a possible partnership between Brazil and the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), founded in 2005, as part of the Clinton Foundation. The CGI brings together leaders from all over the globe to find innovative solutions that promote the sustainability of developing countries.
In December, Rio de Janeiro will hold the first Latin American CGI meeting, which will gather leaders from several sectors of society that are looking for partnerships for facing social and environmental challenges in the region.
Rousseff, who also has an appointment with Argentinean president Cristina Kirchner at 7 p.m., will hold the opening speech to the 68th United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday (September 24).
